Thousand Splendid Suns...

I got done with this book two days back. I cant write it in words what I went through while reading it. Every part of this book made me realize that I'm so lucky and so blessed..It is a depressing book and I had once told my friend that I'm very happy and I would never read a sad book. But somehow I happened to read it even when some friends warned me not to..This story is about two women in Afghanistan and how they suffer the brutalities of that country and people ruling their lives..Some of the lines are very touching.. The last few moments of Mariam's life where she quickly runs all the memories of her life is highly saddenning and heart breaking.. This book emphasized that women are an epitome of sacrifice.. They give away everything for their loved ones...I am so glad that I've born in a country where we can sleep without fearing that there wouldnt be a tomorrow, to have a home to drive back no matter how late it is in the night, to have loving parents who mean more than anything , to have sisters and brothers to fight and share and pull their legs, to have friends who will always be with you irrespective how many times you've irked them..I feel truly blessed and I thank God for everything He has given me..
